    Hi!
    Did you install any transforms the first time you open maltego? It’s weird that the entities pallet is empty, also you can try by importing a fresh custom kali.

    To be able to drag and drop and share clipboard between host and guest you have to enable those option in the General menu inside VirtualBox.

    Also share the mentioned screenshots please.

    Hi!
    Yeah, your main OS will not communicate with the virtual machines or viceversa, that’s normal. So they won’t appear in the results of netdiscover.

    Can you share a screenshot with the command used and the result please?

    Also the content of etter.conf.

    We don’t recommend using kali as main Os as it can bring more problems than solutions. Actually kali (official release) was designed to be used as a virtual machine, so it would be better to use it like that.

    When you said I would load a page, then want to look at another one and it just takes forever do you mean in Zsecurity’s website?

    You have installed a wrong scapy version, run the these commands:

    pip3 unistall scapy
    pip3 unistall scapy-pyhton3
    pip unistall scapy
    pip unistall scapy-pyhton3

    pip install scapy
    pip3 install scapy

    Hi!
    It looks like you have selected NAT option instead of NAT Network, both options are present and it can be confusing. You need to attach the machines to the same NAT Network.

    When you said “loaded Maltego onto my desktop” , do you mean your host machine?

    Did you selected Community Edition?

    Where are you running the ifconfig command? Is it in kali?

    Can you show the results of:
    ifconfig and route -n in kali
    ipconfig in windows
    Can you share a screenshot of the Network settings used in VirtualBox for both machines?

    Ok, cool you solve it.
    Just to let you know, custom kali is not 2 years old, it uses Gnome for the graphic interface, which is what makes you think is old but is based on offical kali 2020.1.
    Also we don’t recommend using it as main OS, actually kali was designed to be used as a virtual machine, and I mean the release by Offensive security.
