Diego PérezParticipantHi Arminius!
Ok, so the attack can work even if the machine is outside the network but you’ll need to use a wireless adapter attached to kali and connected to your home router, then you’ll need to set the port forwarding rules, this is covered in Section 14 of the course. So the first step is to get a connection back from the victim machine, then you can try to pivot to any other machine. But I will suggest to try it in the virtual lab first, I mean in your host machine and kali and windows as virtual machines attaches to the same NAT Network.Hope it helps!

Diego PérezParticipantHi Samuel!
Did you add the card to the USB list as shown in lecture 11? If you did, then make sure that you don’t physically connect the card to the computer until Kali is fully booted, connect the card, then go to the devices menu (beside the file menu) >> USB >> Click your device.
If you’ve already done the above, then please try the following suggestions:– Experiment with connecting the adapter before and after Kali fully loads, and after you log in as root.
– Experiment with setting the adapter to use USB 2 and USB 3.
– Make sure you connect the adapter directly to the computer, don’t use a hub or an extension.
– And experiment with connecting the adapter to different USB ports.Let me know how it goes!

ParticipantI connected my Wireless Adapter, I connecred to zsvpn, I followed all the instructions by Zaid on how to setup for attacks outside my network. I did port forwarding with wlan0 IP which forwarded to port 8080, 80, 3000 and 4444. Then I host my page on /var/www/html setup setoolkit with the Public IP I got from google connected to the VPN. Then I also added the beef script with the same public IP I got from google using vpn but when I tried on a PC outside my network, the page didn’t open and I didn’t get hook on beef.
I have tried a lot of things, read a lot online trying to find solution to this.
I hope you understand my problem.
Thanks

ParticipantI Used my wireless adapter connected to Kali and to the router and with service Apache2 start. This is what I’ve be doing but I think is something else causing the problem.
Thanks

Diego PérezParticipantHi Akabueze!
For this kind of setup you’ll need to use a wireless adapter attached to kali and connected to your router.
Do you have one? If so let’s try it first with the apache server.Let me know.

Diego PérezParticipantHi!
I think the problem is related to your adapter, it has a chipset that is not working fine with linux anymore. Can you share a screenshot of the result you get after running dnsmasq?
Let me know.

ParticipantExperiment with the connection but make sure you disable the adapter in windows control panel and forget it as a network on your windows WiFi connection.

Diego PérezParticipantHi Sithum!
Are you still using the latest custom kali image provided by Zaid? Cause it has the needed drivers for that specific chipset. And should work out of the box.
Also you can try:– Experiment with connecting the adapter before and after Kali fully loads, and after you log in as root.
– Experiment with setting the adapter to use USB 2 and USB 3.
– Make sure you connect the adapter directly to the computer, don’t use a hub or an extension.
– And experiment with connecting the adapter to different USB ports.Hope it helps!

ParticipantI have been trying to connect adapter to my custom Kali. I followed the instructions as in the lecture.
1. I added it in settings
2. Boot custom kali
3. Went to devices to connect it.But the problem is the the WiFi doesn’t show for me to connect my network. I was only able to connect it once and it worked. I’ve tried to update firmware and it says it up to date. I have tried to install compact wireless and after that it showed USB wireless connection option which my adapter but when I try to connect to network, it stop after I put my router password and return an error message ‘connection failed’ please what could be the cause and the solution.
I have tried different things
Thanks
