Hi!
It could be the problem,you should be sniffing data from your active internet interface.In case eth0 is not your active interface,check which one is by typing iwconfig
in terminal.Are you using wireless adapter?It’s possible that you just aren’t sniffing on the right interface or did not configure the network settings in kali,cause
when you set the NAT network in kali’s settings by default it uses simulated ethernet connection(eth0).In case you did not set up the NAT network in Kali, I think in
the beginning of the course mr.Zaid explains and shows how to do so.But,anyway in order for the program to work you need to specify the network interface that you
are using currently,if it’s a wireless adapter,it will show up when you type iwconfig,in my case it is wlan0.

Ypu can try:
– Experiment with connecting the adapter before and after Kali fully loads, and after you log in as root.
– Experiment with setting the adapter to use USB 2 and USB 3 in VirtualBox’s USB settings.
– Make sure you connect the adapter directly to the computer, don’t use a hub or an extension.
– And experiment with connecting the adapter to different USB ports.

Hi!
Try by unplugging the wireless adapter, there’s no need for it. Then flush iptables rules and enable packet forwarding again:
iptables –flush
iptables –table nat –flush
iptables –delete-chain
iptables –table nat –delete-chain
iptables -P FORWARD ACCEPT

Enable port forwarding
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

Then run the attack again.

Hi!

There’s no like a go to model, also you’ll need to use a wireless adapter in any case. So just buy something that has like 8GB of RAM (at least), SSD storage, 1TB would be great, and a good and recent chipset may be i7 or newer.

Do you have any recommendations on what type of laptop to get for this course?

I am thinking that maybe there is a go-to choice of ethical hackers, maybe where the wifi adapter can be replaced with a 5ghz monitor mode adapter, so you wouldn’t need to use a stick all the time.
