I neglected to set the Windows Machine Network Adapter to NetNetwork…my bad.

It works now, so, thank you; but I ran into another issue. If you don’t mind, I could use your advice.

The goal of the lecture was to test the Backdoor. Upon downloading it on my Windows Machine (both in Chrome and Microsoft Edge), both browsers flagged and deleted the file.

I tried testing the Backdoor using the No Distribute website–to see if scanners would detected it–but the website does not work anymore; ergo, I’m unable to test if the Backdoor was configured properly.

What can I do to make the Backdoor “safe” when it is downloaded on a browser via my Windows Machine?

Can you show the results of:
ifconfig and route -n in kali
ipconfig in windows (I mean windows vm)
Can you share a screenshot of the Network settings used in VirtualBox for both machines?

And tere’s no need for the wireless adapter, just don’t plug it in.

Hi!
Did you add the card to the USB list as shown in lecture 11? If you did, then make sure that you don’t physically connect the card to the computer until Kali is fully booted, connect the card, then go to the devices menu (beside the file menu) >> USB >> Click your device.
If you’ve already done the above, then please try the following suggestions:

– Experiment with connecting the adapter before and after Kali fully loads, and after you log in as root.
– Experiment with setting the adapter to use USB 2 and USB 3 in VirtualBox’s USB settings.
– Make sure you connect the adapter directly to the computer, don’t use a hub or an extension.
– And experiment with connecting the adapter to different USB ports.

Figured it out, installed adapter on new machine/VM install, without installing Wireless drivers first on original machine. Any thoughts on how I would de-install Alfa wireless drivers from original machine

I plan to purchase a ZAPO W50L-5DB USB Wireless Adapter 802.11AC 1200Mbps – RTL8812AU, is it hacking supported? Anyone had experience with this wireless adapter?

I am able to sniff 2.4 and 5Ghz with it but when I run aireplay command on a 5Ghz frequency I always get this error message ” no such bssid available”.

note: I have no issues when executing aireplay command on the 2.4ghz range.

This adapter is not well supported, that’s why you’re having issues with it, you can try to manually install its drivers but it will still give you issues with packet injection and monitor mode, as mentioned in the course requirements you need a powerful adapter that supports monitor mode and packet injection,checkout the adapters on the following link, they all support monitor mode and packet injection:

Hi,
I am able to configure my adapter in the Virtual Box settings as shown, and when I open Kali Linux it shows in devices, but when I go into terminal or terminator and run ifconfig it does not show me the WLAN0.
I have noticed though that my adapter light shows it is working when in my windows 10 host machine and when Virtual Box is open, but as soon as Kali Linux opens the light on my adapter goes out (turns off)
The adapter is a TP-Link T3U Plus AC1300, with a rtl8822bu chipset. According to everything I have read it should be compatible with KL.
Can you help me get this working, I’ve tried different scripts to fix it but without any luck.
Love the course so far, great to have one that is up to date and easy to follow.

Hostapd file in not complete, you just shared the header, also I’ll recommend to use custom kali for the course sake and if you want to use anyother kali version for your own work is ok. This because you’ll need to be roor user to run this attack properly and using custom kali will also have the proper version and tools installed on it.

Also you didn’t mentioned you adapter model, can you share a screenshot with the results of iw list?

Can I see the result of ​ifconfig ​BEFORE starting mana, and the contents of ​start-nat-simple.sh ​and ​hostapd-mana.config ​please? And the results of the command iw list.

So just right click the Kali machine in Virtual Box >> Setting >> Network, take a screenshot and post it here please.​​​
