Hi!
Don’t use the bridged adapter, it’s unreliable and will cause problems. If you want to attack a real machine then you’ll need a wireless adapter. I’ll suggest to use a windows virtual machine instead, just as mentioned in the course.

Yesterday, I ordered the zSecurity unbranded adapter with Realtek RTL8812AU. Can I ask you how much time approximately will it in order to be delivered to me? Also 24 hours after I purchased it successfully, it still shows “processing” for the current status of the order. I would like to know if it is normal or not.

I am sorry for asking the same thing two times. I just want to make sure everything is OK because on Udemy I shared the links in an very bad way with the text file. I understood that the second adapter from AliExpress in not a good option. Can I only ask you what you think is better between the zSecurity unbranded adapter and the first adapter from AliExpress because I didn’t understand?

Hi Diego,

I asked this question on the Udemy Q&A section but it is really hard for me to share the links for the adapters with you so this is why I am asking you here. Hopefully, it is not a problem. You know I am a beginner in Ethical hacking. After I did a research about WiFi adapters and I want it to be with a Realtek RTL8812AU chipset because it supports 2.4 & 5Ghz and I have three options. The first one is to buy an unbranded zSecurity adapter with this chipset, the second is one Chinese adapter and my third one is another Chinese adapter with 2 antennas. Can you tell me what is the best option for me? I don’t want the adapter to be the best, I just want it to work properly with Kali and not to be so bad that I will need to buy another one? Thank you a lot in advance for helping me! I just want to make a good decision because I am a beginner and this is why I would like a professional like you to help me.

Are you getting that message from your host or from kali?
In any case that chipset won’t work as expected with kali, I’ll suggest to get one of the recommended ones. You have to do a local research cause availability may vary from country to country but the important thing is the chipset, I recommend anything with an Atheros or RTL8812AU chipset.

Hi,
When I try to connect my AWUS036NEH adapter (RT2870/RT3070) to Vmware workstation 16(on ubuntu 20.04) I receive an error “The connection for the USB device Ralink 802.11 n WLAN was unsuccessful. Driver error” Can anyone help ?

Hi!
You would need a wireless adapter, you can check them in this same website. But you can use eth0 interface for this lecture, it will lose internet connection but it works to test that the script works.

This adapter is not well supported, that’s why you’re having issues with it, as mentioned in the course requirements you need a powerful adapter that supports monitor mode and packet injection,checkout the adapters on the following link, they all support monitor mode and packet injection:

That chipset is not well supported in kali, I won’t recommend it at all, but you can try:

Did you add the card to the USB list as shown in lecture 13? If you did, then make sure that you don’t physically connect the card to the computer until Kali is fully booted, connect the card, then go to the USB settings and check the adapter is there.
If you’ve already done the above, then please try the following suggestions:
– Experiment with connecting the adapter before and after Kali fully loads, and after you log in as root.
– Experiment with setting the adapter to use USB 2.1 and USB 3.1 in VMWare’s USB settings.
– Make sure you connect the adapter directly to the computer, don’t use a hub or an extension.
– And experiment with connecting the adapter to different USB ports.

I bought a Tp_link USB wifi adapter when I plug it in to the virtual machine i was able to make it show up on the network manager on the to right of the VM but I am not able to search any wifi, and when I typed iwconfig I got
