Nano and gedit are installed in custom kali, can you share a screenshot with the command used and the result please?

    Thanks!

Hi Diego, what i wish to do is too add more proxy’s.
to do this, i need to use gedit, aka gedit
root@kali:~# gedit /etc/proxy chain4.conf. but i cannot find gedit in custom kali.

Command ‘gedit’ not found, but can be installed with:
    apt install gedit
Do you want to install it? (N/y)y
    apt install gedit
    Reading package lists… Done
    Building dependency tree… Done
    Reading state information… Done
Package gedit is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package ‘gedit’ has no installation candidate
    root@kali:~#

    many thanks for reading. alfie.

    Hi!
That’s weird, Are you sure you are using the latest custom kali image provided by Zaid? In any case you can use any other text editor like leafpad.

    Greetings!
    Diego
