    Hello,
I have tried unsuccessfully, to install and run powershell-empire. I have installed it exactly the same way as Zaid shows in Lesson 8.8, but the server launches ok and I end up with a “Unicorn running on port :1337” message… but I cannot get the Client to run. I start a new terminal window and after typing powershell-empire client I get errors of command not found. I have tried to access it through Starkiller but every time I try to log in with the default login credentials (empireadmin and Password123) it says wrong login. At no time during the download and installation process does it prompt me to set a username or password so I don’t really know what it”s looking for. I have been struggling to get Empire actually working properly for the past year on different machines and different systems… from Kali in VMWare to Kali bare metal installs on dedicated machines… but for one reason or another it always fails to install or function properly. I have searched the web for help and ChatGPT but I get so many different approaches to this problem that it’s totally frustrating, and none of them seem to work. Would you be able to help me by providing an updated list of installation and deployment steps, please. I don’t know if BC-SECURITY has completely changed the way it works, but I don’t even see a way to launch a client anymore… it’s as if now it’s set up to work only on Starkiller (even though the launch server part is working)… but I cannot get past the login credentials.
Any way you could help would be appreciated. Thank you,

    Ross

    Hi!
Are you sure you are using the latest custom kali image provided by Zaid? It’s important!

    Greetings!

Hey Diego, thanks for getting back…
I am not using the custom Kali, I did when I first started taking courses with you guys, but I wanted to get away from the limits of a virtual environment and set up kali on a dedicated machine… so I did a bare metal install with the correct kali .iso image downloaded from the kali website. I then added extra optional tools that I wanted, and powershell-empire is one of them. However I have been encountering nothing but problems and I just can’t get it to install properly, I tried Starkiller and that doesn’t seem to install properly either (although I can open the graphic gui login page, looks good, but doesn’t recognize the default login and password). Like I said, when I launch the server it seems to work properly and gives mr the message that Unicorn is listening on :1337 but…… I can’t seem to be able to launch the client in the same way as shown in the lesson. I just get a page that lists usage (server, setup) and positional arguments, and h for the help menu – that’s it! Nothing executable.
Can you please help me with some concrete suggestions on how to install powershell-empire properly on my kali machine? All packages are up to date, and I’m on an intel machine.

    Hi!
Can you share a screenshot of the command used to try to run the client?

    Greetings!
    Diego
