Journey from Engineering to Ethical Hacking: Mastering Cybersecurity with Z Security
Embarking on a New Career Path in the Cyber World
As a millennial from Tunisia with a background in mechanical engineering, I’ve recently embarked on a thrilling journey of transformation. Battling social anxiety disorder and pivoting my career towards the exciting realm of ethical hacking. Cybersecurity and ethical hacking are not just careers; they’re exciting, lucrative and in global demand. The world of ethical hacking is like a complex recipe that I’m learning to master, one ingredient at a time.
The Inspiring Start: Discovering Z Security’s Ethical Hacking Course
My journey into the world of ethical hacking began with Z Security’s “Learn Ethical Hacking from Scratch” course on Udemy. Let me tell you, the preview alone was like the first sip of a perfectly brewed coffee – inspiring and powerful. It gave me just enough insight to know this was the path for me, without spoiling the full experience. It was the perfect appetizer to the main course of cybersecurity knowledge that lay ahead.
Diving Deep: The Full Suite of Z Security Courses
I decided to plunge right in and purchased all eight courses offered by Z Security. It’s like walking into a culinary world where each course is a different cooking technique to master. So far, I’ve whipped up skills in website hacking, ARP spoofing, cracking Wi-Fi passwords, social engineering, and network hacking. Each course was like adding a new spice to my cybersecurity skill set, enhancing the flavor of my knowledge.
Current Focus: Python Programming for Ethical Hacking
Right now, I’m knee-deep in the Python programming course, which is all about scripting trojans, malware, and DNS spoofers and many other cyber dishes “attacks”. It’s like being in a digital kitchen, where Python is my go-to tool for creating these intricate, techy dishes.
But wait, there’s more! I still have the Network Advanced Hacking and Bug Bounty courses to feast on. I’m like a chef, eager to try out new recipes in my cyber kitchen.
Looking Ahead: CEH Certification and Networking
Looking forward, I’m gearing up for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) practice exams, which are just around the corner. It’s like prepping for a big dinner party, where everything needs to be just right. And after that? I’m planning to sign up for the VIP subscription for more in-depth networking skills and mentorship. It’s about refining those culinary skills, but in the world of cybersecurity.
Summary: Ready for the Cybersecurity World
So here I am, feeling more confident than ever about stepping into the world of ethical hacking. The journey from an engineer to an ethical hacker has been like following a complex recipe, with each step teaching me something new.
