When I use the phone layout on “onboard keyboard” and I type some simbols like (.,/@+= ecc. ecc.) the keyboard doesn’t show the simbols that I type.
This happen only for the phone layout and I don’t know how to fix it.January 18, 2025 at 7:16 pm #203826Diego PérezModeratorHi!
Do you mean it is not typing anything? Just a blank space? Or can you elaborate more?Greetings!
DiegoJanuary 18, 2025 at 7:52 pm #203827PierpaoloParticipantyes is not typing anything, I cannot use simbols only in the phone layout, when I type letters it works but when i try typing simbols the keyboard doesn’t work anymore

That’s weird, are you using the latest kali image? Maybe try reinstalling onboard keyboard.Greetings!
DiegoJanuary 20, 2025 at 8:03 pm #203875PierpaoloParticipantthe keyboard does not respond to symbol key input, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it by updating the kali linux packages, I tried changing the kali machine to the cloud, I tried playing with the keyboard settings but nothing to do.
in my opinion it should be a problem with kali installed on the cloud since trying to install the keyboard on my kali linux virtual machine it works perfectly but I still haven’t found a way to fix it.
I have attached a link to a short video so you can better understand the problem I am facing:

Are you sure you are using the same kali image as showed in the course? Yours looks totally different, it doesn’t look like kali to be honest.Greetings!
DiegoJanuary 21, 2025 at 9:37 pm #203919PierpaoloParticipantIm using the latest kali image in AWS amazon, this is the AMI name: kali-last-snapshot-amd64-2024.4.1-804fcc46-63fc-4eb6-85a1-50e66d6c7215

Have you tried to connect to novnc with a real phone? Is it happening the same?Greetings!
DiegoJanuary 25, 2025 at 9:38 pm #203996PierpaoloParticipantYes I’have tried multiple times, but using a real phone doesn’t stop the keyboard issue.
