ModeratorHi!
It seems like the script shouldn’t be run as root. The best solution would be to become kali user, navigate to some directory inside kali user home directory (like /home/kali/Documents), then clone the repository and run the install.sh script.Greetings!

ModeratorHi!
I actually give you the solution to the problem, did you even try it?
Also, as you can see the questions have timestamps and we answered you just 2:30 hrs after you asked, this time it is 3 hrs, not 16.Zaid reviews all answers posted by us (the course teaching assistants) and you’d actially see him commenting here if he had something to add.
Greetings!

ParticipantHi, I’m trying to install Empire on the kali cloud but I have the following problem. It asks for a password for kali, but there is no password for kali , I’m login with private key.

ModeratorHi!
As mentioned in the lecture you should set a password for kali. Watch the lecture once again and make sure to follow all the instructions accordingly.Greetings!

ParticipantI think you need to watch the lectures carefully. When configuring Kali on AWS, a key pair is used, and when Zaid installs the Empire C2 server, it doesn’t ask for a password anywhere, nor is it mentioned that a password is required. And if you happen to decide to generate a password, the server won’t connect you because the connection is made using a key pair.

ParticipantHello, will anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

ModeratorHi!
Maybe you are the one who need to watch the lectures carefully, Zaid clearly said that a password for kali needs to be created. Also, that password has nothing to do with connecting using a key. Here’s a screenshot of the exact moment in the lecture where Zaid mentioned it: (in the subtitles the word kali is misunderstood for Cal)So watch the lecture again and pay attention to the instructions, also take notes as it will be very useful.
Greetings!

ParticipantI don’t know which course you’re watching, and I don’t want to argue with you. I suggest you install Kali on Amazon Cloud, create a user account using password and try to use it. You can also review the lessons on installing Kali on a cloud server and installing Empire on a cloud server on Hacing Masterclass Course. NOWHERE is a password used for the Kali user, and if you create a password for the user, you can’t use it because the SERVER does not accept it!!!!

ModeratorHi!
The above screenshot is from the course you have mentioned. And no, setting the password for kali user won’t affect the ssh connection using a key file.
I don’t know what exactly you are doing that you said the server doesn’t accept it. In any case, you can use the command passwd to set kali’s password, then you can install Empire.Greetings!
