    In lesson 4.4 What is MAC Address & How to Change It, there is an unlisted youtube link that shows you how to prevent a changed MAC address reverting to the original address. I edited the config file with no problems however when running the command “service network-manager restart” I get an error message saying, “Failed to restart network-manager.service: Unit network-manager.service not found.” By the way I only edited the conf file not because I was having problems with the MAC address reverting to the original but because it seems like a good idea to do it.

    service NetworkManager start

    Hi! Thank you for the command. I had no error message afterwards. By the way is there a specific reason why the changed MAC address has to start with double zero? i.e. 00:xx:xx:xx:xx.

    Hi!
    By default any adapter will accept a new mac address that begins with 00, but it depends on the adapter itself. So you can try to use any other number combination and check if the adapter accepts it or not.
