Maybe you are the one who need to watch the lectures carefully, Zaid clearly said that a password for kali needs to be created. Also, that password has nothing to do with connecting using a key. Here’s a screenshot of the exact moment in the lecture where Zaid mentioned it: (in the subtitles the word kali is misunderstood for Cal)
So watch the lecture again and pay attention to the instructions, also take notes as it will be very useful.
